If you are not a part of the Jacksonville healthcare industry, you are probably wondering, what is Jean’s Jax Network and why does it appear here? Well, I guess the best explanation is that it has become an integral part of my Spiritual “service work”.
I have always loved helping others although when I began working with seniors 33 years ago I never imagined where it would take me. I started doing community outreach for a local ophthalmologist and quickly realized that I had no idea how to connect with these folks and those who served them. As I grew, I got involved with everyone and everything to do with seniors and as this evolved, more and more people began asking me how they could connect as I had. So, I created a calendar and called it Jean’s Jax Calendar. I emailed to anyone who asked for it. As time went on and word got out, I soon had nearly 700 people on my email string who wanted to get the calendar each month. I had created something wonderful but it was taking over my life. Finally I got this great message from Spirit, put the calendar on your website. Wow! Was I glad to get that message! And there you have it. The story of how Jean’s Jax Network began.
It is here that I’d like to put in a plug for MEDCO, the company that has employed me for the last 16 years. Medco has played an integral role in supporting the growth and development of what has become Jean’s Jax Network. I could not have provided this service to all of you without this great company and my awesome boss, Jim Sloan.
